The Waratah is our fixed-leg table for the game room that never comes down. A powder-coated steel frame carries a 2.4m by 1.3m oval top, padded rail and a sunken speed-cloth surface stitched taut over 12mm foam. Fixed legs give more rigidity than a folding frame, so leave at least 3 ft of clearance around the perimeter for players to push back and stand. Seats nine comfortably, eight if the dealer needs elbow room. Built to stay put for years of Friday nights, not to be dragged out of a cupboard.
